Dismay & Profana is a series of large-scale color photographs that mimic popular couture fashion advertisements through simulated scenes of brutality, domination, self loathing, and power. These photographic images were created by constructing and staging scenes that resemble the same visual coded messages of hyper-sexualized advertisements. Void of textual input and brand this body of work challenges the intended, accustomed apathetic response from consumers towards abusive commercial imagery of women.
