About Me
Time is a canvas that I will spend the entirety of my life trying to understand. In photography I am capturing the world at fractions of a second. And I spend the rest of my time articulating that moment in a two dimensional form. Our vision is possible through the wavelengths of photons. And is it any coincidence that our existence is solely contingent upon time and light? Similarly that time and light can not exist with out one another.
I am captivated by this feeble existence. And I do not fear life, because I have a camera and ink in hand.
In documenting events, things, people, places I believe that there is always an element of time that is involved. Capturing the essence of this time; its feeling, mood and aesthetics is my drive. Our eye and experience alone can grasp the totality of a particular space and time. And like the wavelengths of light hitting our retina, this time is fleeting. In photographs through manipulation of light, color and cropping of space I am conveying a mood that is both mystifying and personal. Through the amalgamation of the effects of light in photography and longer exposures; I am adding more time to each frame. Essentially expanding each two dimensional scene and using the frame of the image not only to document the place but also documenting the time that is inherently involved. While time may be fleeting, capturing a moment with in photography is a way to hold that time and bend it.
